About the Author
Vicki Butler-Henderson was born into a racing family and started on karts when she was just 12. She holds a Race International 'C' class license, and still regularly races Porsche, Renault, Caterham, VW, Proton, Citroen and Peugeot. In 2004 she became the first woman to win a Maserati race in the history of the marque. Vicki works mainly as a journalist, for a wide variety of newspapers and magazines, including Auto Express, What Car?, Performance Car, the Sunday Times, Car Week, Practical Classics, Country and Town House, and more. She was the assistant launch editor of Max Power before becoming one of the founder members of the BBC's motor show Top Gear. The BBC cancelled the show and she, along with other presenters, moved to Five and Fifth Gear where the show ran for seven years. She has also worked on British Touring Car Championship (ITV), Wrecks to Riches (Discovery), Formula Four Stroke power boat racing (Channel 4), Country File and One Man And His Dog (BBC). She did a nine-month stint on the Absolute Radio Breakfast Show and has appeared on Steve Wright (BBC Radio 2) and Woman's Hour (BBC Radio 4).
